18 Amazing Healthy Almond Recipes

Today, we’re going to get nutty and talk about almonds. I’m also going to share some of my favorite healthy almond recipes with you. Wait. That’s only partially true. There are some very delicious but quite unhealthy recipes in this collection, too. You’ll want to make them anyway. Trust me.
Just eat them in moderation. You know, where you just have a couple of bites and then hide the rest for later…
…Or eat the entire pan of the decadent, fattening recipes and then run for 5 miles to work off the calories. Whichever is easier for you.

Food Facts – Almonds

~ Did you know that almonds are actually stone fruits (like peaches, plums, and cherries)?

~ Almonds are high in protein, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. One of the major health benefits of almonds is that they provide nutrients that help to increase the bone mineral density, which helps to strengthen the skeletal system. Almonds are even considered a remedy to cope with osteoporosis.

~ Another health benefit of almonds is that they help to prevent gallstones by keeping your gallbladder healthy. Regular consumption of almonds helps to lower the risk of gallstone buildup by up to 25 percent.

~ The world’s largest almond factory is located in Sacramento, California and processes over 2 million pounds of almonds per day.  California produces over 80% of the world’s supply of almonds and that chocolate manufacturers currently use about 40% of the world’s almonds and about 20% of the world’s peanuts.

So get nuts about nuts! Buy some almonds and get crackin’, because let’s face it… they’re yummi!

  1. What a great collection of recipes, but I enjoyed your almond facts the most. I never knew that almonds were considered a stone fruit! I guess it makes sense now that i think about it… As a nurse, I’ll have to pass on the osteoporosis benefits to some of my at risk patients!

  2. All hail the versatile almond!! Those almond flour muffins and the almond butter are particularly intriguing to me.

    1. Almond butter is one of the most amazing spreads I’ve ever tasted. It’s freakishly addictive, too… especially if you “accidentally” add a few chocolate chips on top of it as you’re schmearing it onto your English muffin in the morning.
