Need a list of recipes you can make using long shelf life foods? We have you covered. All of these recipes use entirely canned foods or freezer friendly ingredients to make entire meals that you and your family can eat in emergency situations like we are in lately.
With the current situation going on in the world and our city currently getting worse with infections and on the verge of a pandemic (within another week or so is my guess) we are beginning to look at what is in our pantry and ingredients we want to make sure we have enough of in case we have to go into lockdown and hunker down to wait it out.
I’m guessing that more people are starting to do the same. So I’ve put together a list for us and the best part is that many of these ingredients used in the following recipes have long shelf lives and/or are freezer friendly.
We go through each recipe and how you can prep it to be ready in case you’ve got to hunker down and wait it out. Here is what we’ve got on the agenda for our dinners.

A couple other long shelf life ingredients
- Potato Flakes (Potatoes store well in a cool dark place for a couple months)
- Spaghetti Squash (also stores well in a cool dark place for a couple months) Be a good recipe to use our spaghetti casserole recipe with.
