13ouncessmoked sausage linkscut into bite-sized chunks
1teaspooncayenne pepper or creole seasoning

Instructions
Place the oil Into a 4 quart saucepan over medium heat, Once the oil starts to shimmer, saute the onion and green pepper 3-4 minutes. Add the sausage and continue cooking until the onion is translucent, about 4 more minutes.
Add the beans and rice mix, water, tomatoes, and cayenne pepper or creole seasoning. Stir to combine and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25 minutes, or per the directions on the beans and rice package.
Once the beans and rice are tender, uncover, remove from heat, and let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
Notes
The sausage in this dish can be substituted with another variety of sausage, chicken breast, diced ham, or even bacon!
