Roots of Cheddar’s Scratch Restaurant

Cheddar’s restaurant began as Cheddar’s (a name suggested by a 5th-grade class as the founders Aubry Good and Doug) asked for a name.

It is a Texas-based restaurant chain that now has over 170 locations in 28 states.

It then turned into Cheddar’s Kitchen when then-president and CEO Ian Baines did not want their efforts of serving fresh food to stay within the kitchen walls thus the name change.
